Village Veterinary Care

Very kind.

TL;DR: Ashlee was rude. Walk-ins not welcome. Vet not available during business hours unless you have an appointment. We usually take our pets here but not anymore. Our cat, Henry, was sick and we took him to Vital Vet on Flood because it was after hours. They treated him and recommended getting him an additional shot of fluids today at our “regular” vet, Village Vet. We walk in, explain it to the first woman at the desk who was very cordial but was unable to sort out the details of what he needed. So she went to get someone else, all good. Ashlee comes to the desk, asks what’s going on, I explain it all to her, including where Vital Vet recommended hospitalization and transfusion but I can’t afford it. She says “Why didn’t you call us before coming in?” And she gives me some attitude. And informs me they don’t take walk-ins. None of their online info suggests that they don’t take walk-ins. It isn’t on the door, website, google search, etc. So why the attitude? I said, “Okay, we just won’t come here next time.” She pushes away from her desk and says something to the effect of “okay, fine”. She then says something like “Didn’t they recommend this animal be hospitalized” I replied with, “They did, and a transfusion, but as I said, I can’t afford that.” I think she realized that was the wrong attitude because she shifted back to the computer and began asking questions. She was rude. I only got snippy when that attitude was directed at me. And what vet has their clinic open but doesn’t take walk-ins? They have zero information about walk-ins not being welcome. I can handle an experience that isn’t necessarily the best, but when I’ve explained the situation then you choose to be rude in your delivery, and then don’t listen to what I’ve explained, that irritates me. I can handle it being by appointment only if it weren’t presented in such a rude manner. It doesn’t make sense to be open and not able to provide care, but that’s just my opinion. Won’t be going here again. UPDATE: One thing I didn't mention was that Ashlee told me that they hadn't received an email with our pet's treatment information from the other vet. Turns out, not only DID they receive it, they opened it.
